Comrade Shashi Yadav, Politburo member of CPI(ML) and General Secretary of All India Scheme Workers' Federation was elected to the  Bihar Vidhan Parishad (Bihar Legislative Council) along with other Mahagathbandhan candidates. The results were declared on March 14.
Comrade Shashi Yadav had been at the forefront of ASHA (frontline health workers) and Mid-Day meal workers' struggle in Bihar for working-class rights, better pay and dignity. In July 2023, she played an instrumental role in the 32-day historic strike action by ASHA workers and facilitators in the state that secured an increase in honorarium being paid for ASHAs.
