Session of Indian Institute of Marxist Studies held in Bangalore

Interactive Session with Comrade Dipankar Bhattacharya, organized by Indian Institute of Marxist Studies (IIMS), on Wednesday 15 December 2021, at Ashirwad, Bangalore.

The meeting was attended by party comrades and members of the mass organizations, as well as by friends and sympathizers in Bangalore. Comrade Dipankar addressed the meeting for around 45 minutes, and that was followed by an interactive session.

Villagers Protest: Corporate Land Grab In Odisha

When people in coastal Odisha were living in panic as the news of a cyclone hitting the coast was in circulation 24x7,  around 3 AM in the night on December 4, 2021 3/4 platoon police entered  Dhinkia Village to arrest Debendra Swain, the  main leader of Anti-Jindal & Anti-POSCO Movement. 500 people immediately rushed to  their leader's house to rescue him. The collective resistance of the villagers against the police action was nonviolent and peaceful.

Stop Ongoing Evictions From Forest Lands in Assam

On 7 November a large contingent of Assam police entered Lumding Reserve Forest led by DM and SP of Hojai district to evict the people belonging to Garo, Chakma and Bengali speaking Muslims who have been living in there to leave forthwith. Most of them are landless, victims of ethnic cleansing and river erosion. Sadou Asom Grameen Shramik Santha intervened and requested the district magistrate of Hojai through a memorandum to stop evictions without any proper rehabilitation done.

Caste Atrocities Against Dalits and Police repression at Thiruvaikavur, Thanjavur

In recent times, particularly after the assumption of power by the DMK, we are witnessing scores of incidents of oppression of Dalits in various places of Thanjavur and nearby districts of delta region of Tamil Nadu. Several people are getting killed mainly from among Dalits, including some Left activists. Dominant backward caste forces are attacking Dalits with renewed vengeance.

AISA protest at the Home Minister Amit Shah's house

AISA held a protest at the Home Minister Amit Shah's house in Delhi on 17 October demanding that Ajay Mishra Teni, the BJP leader accused in the massacre of farmers at Lakhimpur, be sacked as Minister of State for Home.

Shockingly, women students at the protest were subjected to sexual assault by the Delhi Police. Policewomen kicked two of the protesters - Neha Tiwari and Shreya Banerjee Kapoor, in the genitals and partially disrobed them, exposing undergarments to the male policemen present.

Sanitation Workers' Campaign In Bangalore Streets

The BBMP Powrakarmika Sangha has started a Jaatha across the city of Bengaluru from 9th October, 2021 to highlight the vulnerable conditions under which powrakarmikas are forced to work and demand for dignified working conditions.

The Jaatha was inaugurated by Com Ravanamma, a senior leader of the Union, who retired as a powrakarmika last year and who has been at the forefront for the rights of powrakarmikas from the beginning.
