The meeting was led by CPI(ML) Polit Bureau member Dhirendra Jha, and addressed by former Arwal MLA Mahanand Singh, former Ghosi MLA Rambali Singh Yadav, Central Committee member Kumar Parvez, Gaya District Secretary Niranjan Kumar, Jehanabad District Secretary Vijay Kumar, former JNUSU President Dhananjay, Dr. Ramadhar Singh, Leela Verma, and many others along with the victims of the feudal violence, Renu Devi and Reshmi Devi.
Addressing the meeting Dhirendra Jha sharply criticised the state government and the local administration. He said that sand mining in the Falgu River is completely prohibited by law. Despite this, the "Vishnu Don Gang" continues to carry out illegal sand mining day and night under the open protection and connivance of officials from the Ghosi and Hulasganj police stations. Poor people have the right to use local resources for their basic needs, but under the double-engine government, the mafia enjoys complete freedom.
Mahanand Singh saluted the courage of the women of Chaiti Pipar. He said that under the BJP-led government, the confidence of feudal forces and the sand mafia has grown to such an extent that they are now conspiring to falsely implicate innocent Ajay Ram and Vijay Ram in Dhiraj Sharma's murder case. Comrade Rambali Singh Yadav added that this is a fight for the Poor's Rights Over Natural Resources but Chaiti Pipar is not merely about a few sacks of sand. It is a struggle for the dignity of the poor, their identity, and their basic rights.
Victims Renu Devi and Reshmi Devi also narrated their ordeal in tears, saying that fear still prevails in the village. The mafia's men continue to threaten them to withdraw the case or face serious consequences, but they will not bow down.
The CPIML placed major demands before the government through this rally. They include immediate withdrawal of fabricated cases filed against innocent Ajay Ram and Vijay Ram in the name of the Dhiraj Sharma murder case, and an end to attempts to harass the victims; suspension of the police officials of Ghosi and Hulasganj police stations; filing of a chargesheet against the main accused, Vishnu Don. The free treatment for the injured, adequate compensation for the affected families, and a government guarantee of security for the entire settlement, along with special arrangements to ensure the safe education of the village's daughters, and immediate construction of toilets at government expense in every poor household of the Mahadalit and Extremely Backward settlement in Chaiti Pipar, and installation of adequate numbers of new hand pumps for drinking water was also demanded.
